It happened once when President Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed Executive Order # 3066 and Japanese-American citizens were interred in several different camps in the U.S. interior during World War Two. The Supreme Court determined that order did not violate law or serve as a regulation which was repugnant to the Constitution and (therefore) null and void. There are no U.S. nationals being held at Camp Delta in Guantanamo Bay Cuba and there never have been.

An American Citizen who enters Britain Illegally (i.e. with no money and intending to work illegally) is technically liable to detention, usually however they are sent back to the USA on the next available aeroplane.

Is it possible to detain Americans in USA detention camps?
Now, absolutely, and anywhere in the world.

It has been going on for decades, only difference is that now it is legal.

When they voted the Patriot Act into law, it is legal for our government to do just about anything.

If the "police" arrest you, you have to be charged and tried within a reasonable amount of time.

If the US Justice dept or the Dept for Homeland Security get you, they can detain you for absolutely any reason what so ever for 3 months (90 days) before you ever get to think about seeing a lawyer. There are cases where they have detained US citizens for much longer before they ever acknowledged that they were detaining that person... When they admit that they have them, that’s when they start counting the days.

Do you remember the Japanese living in camps during ww 2.
Some of them were citizens both natural and those that took the tests etc. to become citizens.

It's unconstitutional but it still happens. The government can hold anybody for 72 hrs for no reason and has to have an arrest order from the court after that
