What a great mom! Thank her for such a great car! My first car cost $25 dollars and the motor was taken apart in the trunk. Please drive very carefully!

I wouldn't want a huge SUV for a first car. For two reasons.
1) It will be harder to learn how to drive.
2) It's TERRIBLE on gas.
I love infinitis and my first car was an I30. It's lasted a long time and has taught me a lot.
I think your mom is trying to give you her gas guzzler to keep you from driving very far and so she can get something more practical.
And as everybody else said, you can buy rims for virtually any car. Most cars will have rims that are much cheaper than the QX56 because it has huge rims and will probably cost you around $2000 for rims and tires.

it all depends on what you want in your first car. most kids dont care what kind of car they get, they're happy to have a car. but if she's willing to give you her infiniti, then she should be willing to sell it and get you a more fitting car. The infiniti is huge and difficult to drive around. it is also very hard on gas. i'd be looking for a more appropriate car. if you want an infinit that badly, try the fx35/45, they're smaller and more carlike, thus easier to handle. They still look good with rims on them, and I personally think they look better than the qx. if you want something on the bigger side, take a look at the audi q7. it's about the same size, still looks good with rims, but can come with a v6, plus it's german, so it has better value overall. if you want rims for cars, try www.tirerack.com. click wheels, then go through the steps to find the car. they have a nice selection there.
hope this helps.

if i was 16 and my mom was giving me a 2004 infiniti then yes i would say its good enough!!!!
you mentioned the good thing about it is that you can buy rims for them??? um....you can buy rims FOR ANY CAR!! not just an infiniti.
go to tirerack.com and enter in the vehicle information and they will show you the rims that fit the vehicle. they even have a computerized image to simulate what the vehicle will look like with those rims

It's too big of a vehicle for an immature driver. Tell her to sell it and to use the money to buy you a CAR, not a 2 ton vehicle that you're more likely to turn over as you impress your friends. And worry about rims after you've learned to parallel park your car. Trust me on that one.

one hundred% Benz of those 2, the engineering that is going right into a motor vehicle this is built from the floor as much as be this is very own identity is unquestionably nicely well worth the investment. The QX shares many many aspects, the two chassis and mechanical, to its Nissan cousin. i could look into the recent BMW X3 too, this is technologies and transmission are very progressed, to no longer be governed out.

while it is definitely a nice ride to have for your first car, it not exactly the best kinda of car to get comfortable driving with... lots of blind spots, more difficult to manuver, drinks gas like its outta style. think it would be best to learn to drive with something a bit smaller. And believe me when i say this, there are folks who have been driving for 30 years that are still learning to drive. Good luck

You can buy rims for any car....
Ebay is a decent place to look for rims if you know what the size, lug pattern, and what offset you want is.

if she gives it to you, sell it, and get something more economical my first car was an 84 ford bronco, with no engine, i had to put one in it, and i had to pay for it myself. It cost me about 3500 bucks after i paid for the motor with it. i got it in 98 and actually just sold it to a friend of mine cause it had been sitting in storage for so long. but yeah, if your mom does give it to you, be thankful for it... not everyone has parents that can afford to give them any sort of car.
