Because the Democrats still cling to the idea that honesty and decency has a place in politics. Boy, they never learn. Just think of the trashing of Senator Max Cleland, severely wounded in Vietnam by the GOP by an opponent who never served.

Face it, the GOP plays hardball and the Democrats dither. And we get Bush and Cheney and Frist and Cunningham and Ney and Gonzalez and the rest of the pond scum.

Clinton did have several opportunities to get bin Laden after he had publicly taken credit for several terrorist acts and he failed to.

Kerry may, or may not have faked his wounds. I really don't care. I do know he discredited any medals he won shortly after returning home and therefore, it is very disingenuous of him to lay claim to them now. I have absolutely no respect for the man for having tried to use those same medals to adorn his resume later in life without forthrightly acknowledged his previous mistakes.

Bush was in the National Guard and never went AWOL. Those documents were proven to have been forged.

I cannot think of any individual who has not made mistakes early in life. The difference is that both Bush and Cheney have owned up to theirs instead of feigning continuous denial and defaming everyone who has ever spoken out against them.

Deferments are legal.

Some self-righteous right-wingers feel the end justifies the means to gain power at the expense of the left who has been categorized as lazy, immoral, etc. in a smear campaign that has lasted for quite some time now. Those on the right believe anything bad they are told about the target because republicans are supposedly the moral party. Some people haven't figured out yet that they don't live up to that.

I don't think the 'right' has successfully fended off the attacks. Bush and Cheney did what most AMericans would do if they could and that is to beat the system, and find a way to manipulate it or take advantage of it in order to get power and wealth. Until this country cares about who makes the decisions, we get what we deserve. American got what it deserved in W and Cheney. Two guys rewarded for being able to successfully lie, cheat and steal to get where they are. Until ALL OF YOU put down your ipods, mps3, cell phones and start caring about what is going on rather than just about getting fatter, then we will CONTINUE to get what we deserve. I mean, can you even name on candidate that is not a Democrat or Republican? Well kids, there are 28 other political parties with candidates running in the 2008 Presidential elelction and I will bet YOU CAN"T NAME ONE OF THEM.

you seem to be very confused.... the real issue that we should be addressing is that this country is very divided and we are missing the big issue of survival as a nation. it is time to forget all of the petty bickering between dems and reps and try to heal this once great nation . I am afraid that we are past the point of no return though.

I think all of that is pretty well documented. The biggest problem the Dem's have is that they can't truthfully say what they really stand for because most people would not go along with it.

The inconvenient truth about Socialism is that it requires the elimination of personal freedom and the rule of law.

President Clinton had the opportunity to kill Osama. He didn't take it. That's the truth.

The lie about Kerry didn't stick.

Bush served in the TNG. IF he went AWOL, it has yet to be proven.

Bush has never made any secret about him being a boozer in the past. Clinton implied he'd been unfaithul in marriage. Voters forgave both.

No what about the constant Dem accusations that the GOP hates children? Or that we have a bad economy? Or that there is no good news out of Iraq?

I don't agree with you at all. The two lies you listed are NOT conventional wisdom, and the three truths are well known.

First off you are wrong on your lies. President Clinton was offered ubl 4 times and there are records to back me and my my correctness. No one has ever disputed what the swftboaters said abotu him. He lied about being in cambodia on Christmas. Your President (and I know you hate that) was never charged with being awol. Wow DUI so was patrick kennedy and his drunk father, who killed a man. If you want to try and be intelligent on this issue, I suggest more research because you were just beatdown by a smarter, more talented conservative, so eat that and go back and try to be liberal because I now own you
