They are all dead. Steve Vai, Randy Rhodes, Tony Iommi Robert Johnson. You can't ask a question like this and expect a decent result due to the fact that every genre of music has top artists. And no guitar players can offer the SAME type of Technique

Slash by far if you listen to some of the solos on the use your illusion albums they are amazing and so well written . A lot of his
stuff is not only technical but the emotion and drive that is done with it is unbelievably mind blowing maybe its just me but i think hes the best
