What are you interested in? Music? Politics? The environment?
Consider writing about something that you are interested in so that you can enjoy the experience.
What do you think should be fixed about your school? The food in the cafeteria? More music classes? Less emphasis on sports? More funding for the basketball team?
Is there anyone you're really impressed with at the school? Is there a guidance counselor all the kids like?
How about your town? Do you they need to offer curbside recycling? Or build a teen center?
Good look!

My Grandson, he's 16 and, just started driving, although he doesn't have a car, I have one for him, scares the living hell out of me.
Seven (7) of his schoolmates this year and, from the area, have all died, two the very day they got their licenses, not from drugs, drinking or screwing around. It was all related to high speed driving and, showing off.
Every year six thousand American kids, don't come home after going out for the evening. All are killed on the highways and byways of the Nation through recklessness on the roads.
This would be a very good article, high school kids, writing about other high school kids and the way they drive.

It probably depends what's happening at your school or locally. An opinion piece is typically biased, but still argued well. Opinion pieces are typically written on a timely and controversial topic (it's being discussed at the moment).
