Since this morning, my computer has made this noise, you know like when you click on something it makes the clicking noise, well it's been doing that all day and nothing happens when it does it, it just does it. Also, pop ups have been popping up even with the pop up blocker on. It's always on. This hasn't happen before so I don't know what's going on with my stupid computer today. I tried turning it off and restarting it but it didn't work. I have no idea what's going on. Have any of you experienced this? What did you do about it or what would you do about it?

BTW, I put this in the Polls & Surveys section becasue it's where everyone hangs out and gives answers so don't yell at me that it's in the wrong section.

Sounds to me that you have a virus/ad ware that is causing problems. Get a good virus/Internet security application, hopefully it can solve your problem.

Hi Michelle I think it would be a good idea to uninstall and reinstall the usb drivers on your computer. Click on the following to do this: Start, Control Panel, Device Manager, Continue, Then click the + sign on the Universal Serial Bus Controller, then right click on all the USB root hub and then click uninstall on each of these. After you do this restart the computer so it shuts down and restarts again. After your computer turns on again the Drivers will automatically reinstall if you have vista but if you don't you may need to get them at your computer's manufacturer's website. Hopefully the noises will stop. If it doesn't stop, uninstall the other drivers under universal serial bus controller. If that doesn't work try uninstall the sound driver and downloading it from your computer manufacturer's website. Just google your computer brand and drivers. For example you could google HP drivers or Dell drivers. Once you do this you would need to enter the information on what type of computer you have so you can download and install them. Hope this solves your problem. Email me if you have questions on this.

cannot be absolutely certain but from the general symptoms you described, it could be a hard drive beginning to fail on you - it may fail entirely tomorrow, it may keep going for another year or more before total failure - if it is a symptom of hard drive failure, getting a new drive and swapping information to new drive is your wisest choice

best bet tho, to make sure of this diagnosis, is to take it to a reputable repair store and have them check it out - it is far cheaper than just buying a new computer altogether unless you find you need to for some unknown reason

The clicking sound might be a sound byte that goes off when your pop-up blocker has blocked something.

I recommend using Firefox as your browser instead. You can download it for free by going to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ .
