Be still my beating heart... my favorite portion of the entire document and perhaps the most important.
What is important to understand this portion is the preceding line which states "all expirence hath shewn, mankind more willing to suffer while evils are sufferable then to right themselves from the means of which they are accustomed".

Think of the Declaration of Independence as a living document and use it for the modern day. The Republicans and Democrats are completely screwing the American public, much more so then King George and Parliament ever dreamed and yet America continues to vote for them and keep them in power.

But the line you bring up is simple, the people can only be abused for so long and in such away and continue to take it. Once the people wake up and realize that their freedoms are being threaten, or all together removed, revolution will ensue. Not only because they will be pushed but because it is humanity's natural instinct to be free and humanity owes it to itself to gain and maintain that freedom.

This is a portion of the declaration that is intentionally forgotten by the powers that be as are many of the quotes that our forefathers made ("May we never be 20 years without a revolution" also Thomas Jefferson). Why? Because they were revolutionaries. They hated tyranny and unjust rule. Even in their elitism they sought to create a fair and balanced system with the most educated and invested members of the society in charge because they were the most qualified. Not that I'm against universal suffrage.

Our forefathers would overthrow the government and corporations of today for without a doubt this was not what they envisioned. I know this is highly politicized but the true value in the Declaration of Independence is that is still carries weight even today.

Would it not be good and easier to just put sanctions and stop trading with the countries which produces terrorists! No! That would not be good for business “right”.
So what is it all about; freedom ore money on the expense of killing more!

Self protection yes that’s natural; but where was the super sophisticated American self defense system on 9/11; strange is it not!
All this sophistication and not one Air force base got one plain up into the air in the time frame of 1 hour; lucky that we have news helicopters getting more quicker to the scene of any attack then the American super power Air force!
Ore was it because there was no plain on the radar screen in the first place?
The TV got quicker on the air than the American Super Power Super sophisticated Air force! What a Joke!
