for their id pic..or pics where they are obviously trying to show their breasts.
What is wrong with leaving it to the imagination.

I see some people don't really read the question..I don't feel I am passing judgement..simply ASKINg a question. I don't feel like a confrontation so I am not going to email someone directly because then it is deliberately picking on someone..which is not my intention.

Don't get your knickers in a knot people..no need to be offended.

Ok...some don't need to but rather, want to. I get that..I still don;t get what the attraction is but yep, that's me!

because they like to tease men and make women jealous lol I think they're simply full of themselves.they love to "vogue"/pose for the camera because they are wannabe celebrities, pornstars, or whatever they want to be.posting their pictures and getting a lot of comments regarding how hot they are feeds their ego.they seem confident and daring to post their pics but they're actually very insecure because they need validation from strangers to feel good about themselves.showing their cleavage is what gets the most attention.cleavage in moderation is fine but I think some women don't look sexy but sleazy.well, to each their own.contrary to being promiscuous as a reflection of their pics, some of these women are conservative in real life and posting sexy pics is just their alter-ego side but some women have other motives.a lot of once unknown women have become online celebrities, who are now selling their sex appeal (ex:christine dolce from myspace) some men & women can't help but look at cleavage.it's a natural instinct for some to be drawn to cleavage.my guy friends have revealed this tidbit to me: even if they're not directly staring, they're still nonchalantly looking at the cleavage from the corner of their eye.it's supply & demand.some are more willingly to supply than others.myspace became popular partially because of these scantily clad pictures of women(men also participate in the sexual inhibition picture taking since the introduction of the web/digi cams & some are more scandalous than women) if the demand is there, then these women will welcome it with an unbuttoned shirt lol they're shamelessly promoting themselves.I've seen some avatars on here with women posting pics of their body parts and what's up with that?! I can understand if it's a dating site or picture rating site.maybe they think it's like myspace, where some people add you to their contacts just because they think you're hot.jeez, must everything be a competition;-P after watching dateline nbc about online predators, I've quickly set my myspace profile to private and real friends only, not some random people that try to add me.

I would be upset if my spouse was looking at scantily clad men. When I had a spouse, he was a man, and as far as I know - straight. I would have liked to know ahead of time if that wasn't the case. Women - not a problem.

Socialization has placed a lot of weight on the female that they must flaunt what they have to be a success in relationships. You see it in advertisements, on the screen, internet, etc.
Somewhat the same as coloring hair, whereas a man looks more mature with grey hair and a woman turns into an unattractive person so to speak. This is an old double standard that has been about forever.
Sex has been flaunted by the females forever. There have been temptresses in the Bible, Greek Mythology, etc.
Clothing designers even flaunt it, but some do allow a lot to be left to the imagination.
I like the way imagination works.

Perhaps for the same reason that a man might post a picture of himself without a shirt, or even a picture of himself doing something manly like holding a gun or drinking a beer. People of both genders sometimes want to show the world how desirable they are using whatever they assume is most interesting to the opposite gender. Sometimes that has to do with insecurity, and sometimes it doesn't. Women flaunt their femininity and men flaunt their masculinity.

Edit: "Women have to have the right to expose themselves for the gratification of sexist males? " Uh, no fella. Women have the right to "expose themselves" for their own benefit and gratification if they see fit. Women are not children who must be protected from themselves. If I willingly put a cleavage shot on the internet, that is my choice and I'm not responsible for the systematic objectification of women. I'm responsible for myself and if you degrade me for availing myself of my choice, then you are the one who is guilty of discriminating against me because I'm female.

Because in our hyper-sexualized society, the best way for a woman to get lots of attention is to display herself with as little clothing as possible. Most women who get media attention are the objectified ones - the movie stars, models and singers. So women figure the way to success is to make yourself a sexual object.

Why do you feel the need to raise the issue?

Let me first say, I actually tend also to be more traditional in views of propriety. I also tend to think that women should be more cautious in what they reveal of themselves online, and that's prudence, not prudery.

But it is not in any way any of my business to "call them out" or to cast aspersions on their motives or character. And they certainly have no duty to explain themselves.

If i were talking to a friend and especially to a family member, I might make my views known, though in a friendly and concerned manner. But what possible good can come out of this sort of question?

Because they have little or no respect for themselves.
They get some satisfaction or much satisfaction from being exposed.
Decent women are the best.
It is a shame that not all women are decent women.

Are you sure the person posting a photo of a scantly dressed female is truly who they state they are? I think it is more common to post someone else's pic than we want to believe. As for the females that do so, possibly they are nieve and do not realize all the implications such an act holds.

Wow! Look at all this "haterism" flowing in here...why do you care what a woman chooses to do with her body or id picture? Is it taking anything from you or yours? The last time I checked, every woman owned her own body and had her own free will to choose accordingly.

My id is not showing much at the moment, but I may change it to show some cleavage when I feel like it. Should you have further questions, feel free to email me.

EDIT: Shingo: What gives you the right to determine what women should or shouldn't do? If she doesn't mind/enjoys being looked at/objectified who are you to decide what is right or wrong? I wouldn't call you sexist, just too foolish to think you have the right to pass judgment on what people should wear. Mind your own business, will you?

EDIT:

Shingo, out of curiosity, why would you email me on Myspace, asking me to open up my page so that you could see my pictures? Although they go against your values and I set them to private? And you're 53? Talk about good role models, leading by example, and practicing as your preach :)

well first off you need to question if it's really a woman or not ... after all sexual predators online aren't really going to post a pic of themselves ... the pic can be the bait cause we are often most drawn to how a person looks .. it's only human ... and that's a weakness of many these sexual predators have found ... but i do know some women personally who put pics up of themselves dressed half nude or nude and stuff ... some say it's because they love the whole feeling of nakedness it turns them on and makes them feel nice ... some of them say it's to tease guys .... some do it cause it makes them feel wild and free like having had sex for the first time and entering that new realm of life, i guess it's a similar feeling for them .... and then some do it cause in plain english ... they're a **** and seek attention through those sort of means ...
