I am 22 years old and just got a tattoo. I will be coming home for Thanksgiving break (one week) from college and then again for Christmas break (one month). I would like to hide my tattoo until the end of christmas break. My tattoo starts at the top of my shoulder and goes down to my bicep on my left arm. That is the only one I have and ever will get. Everywhere I go I always get comments on how great it looks (Cross with dragon, and the words "Only the Strong Survive") It has special meaning to me, but am afraid my parents may kick me out or force me to pay my tuition. I have one semester left, spring. They tried to convince me to not get one. I was told if I hid it from them this long, 2 months with occasional visits from them, I can probably hide it for the 5 weeks. I would be forced to wear long sleeve shirts every day for the week and the month. I am not sure what to say if I get asked a question, even though it is cold. Should I tell them or hide it?

Hide the tattoo. HIDE the tattoo! I was going to suggest Dermablend which is a professional covering agent but darker colors and a larger area isn't going to cover as well and might be noticed. Here's what to do: I'm against lying unless it depends on your college tuition. I am a parent and this is exactly why I'm advising you of this. HIDE IT! Suffer the long sleeves. If you HAVE to wear short sleeves, you say, "These new temporary tattoos last a long time, now. I got this one to impress a girl. (They will believe this...especially your father...) This temporary tattoo is guaranteed to last up to 3 months! What do you think?" When they ask you how you got the money, you say that your friend works at the tattoo shop and paid you in trade for helping him study and typing his papers because he's too busy because he doesn't have wonderful parents paying for school; he has to work at the tattoo shop." Perfect. Simple as that. Good luck!

You can try to hide it but you probably need to be prepared if someone sees it by accident. It could happen. Most older people don't really understand tattoos. It's the new gage of the generation gap. It sucks but there it is. I hate to see you lie about it. I always feel honesty is best. I don't think they'll disown you over it but you know them better than me. Just be prepared if te plan goes awry. Good luck :)

Well if you really think it'll cause you problems as far as you not being able to go to school then i say j/ hide it til you get thru with school. You are 22 though and have the right to get a tattoo if you want to.

look into a grant or finanical aide and tell them you are 22 and grown and like the other one said I hope you did it with your money because I would be upset if I was paying for your education and you got a tat with it.

If you are 22 why do you need their permission? Tell them the truth.

Well, if you spent the money out of your own work money, then they may not like it, but you can't change it now.

If you got it with their tuition money...shame on you.

You are who you are, and your parents need to accept it. My parents were pissed when I got all mine, but they get over it because they love me no matter what.
