BMWs do not have (and never had) Bose sound system. Previous models used Alpine-made systems as stock; and mated them with Harman Kardon systems as their premium sound system. The were okay, but nothing fantastic, and could easily be inferior to aftermarket stereos.

But the new stock sound system is BMW Professional Radio with 10 speakers, and it's quite decent.

The premium sound system is a Logic 7 system. It has been developed by a company called Lexicon. Lexicon is a division of Harmon Group International.

In actual fact both the Mark Levinson in the Lexus and the HK (Logic 7) in the BMW come from the same organisation. This is the Harman International Group, which owns Lexicon, Mark Levinson and Harmon/Kardon brand names.

They are VERY good.

They never made a 2006 328i.

Snowie is completely right. I've never heard the upgraded Logic 7 system, but I am impressed with the standard one. It is a crisp clean sound, very detailed. The bass speakers are mounted under the seats in the floor of the car, which gives incredibly low distortion levels.

I have no doubt that if you went out and spent plenty of money you could certainly get something better. But as stock stereos go, the 325 is good, and the 330 is better. As always with a stereo, it depends what kind of music you like. But I certainly am happy with my BMW Professional stereo.

I will say this though. You can't replace your BMW head unit. The unit is used for a variety of other functions in the car, including Blue Tooth and the trip computer. If you replace it, it could have various unknown ramifications.

So if I were you, I would go to a dealership and listen to the stereo. If you don't like it and can't live with it, don't buy the car. Because replacing it is going to be a pain.

no its not the bose system but either harmon karmon or stock Bmw bussiness system. I have a 2000 bmw 528 and I added a two sub woofer system with 500 watt amp to the stock bussiness class stereo and it rocks. you have to tape into the stock amp system and add the amp to the radio it clear and it rocks. Good luck/
