Hate it when people on here act like theyre gonna kill themselves just to get you to answer?

Yes i hate that.. An it may seem harsh but nsomeone that does do that to themself didnt deservse to be here in the first place.. I is sorry if i affend anyone i just think its totally selfish of them to put there family through that.

Come on people don't be so hard!Yahoo answers might be the only outlet some of these people have! You don't know if they are acting or serious.
But for all those who may post trying to just get others to answer .....think before you ask such a serious question , there are people out there who really do need the advice and support!

It reminds me of the people I used to deal with who would threaten to kill themselves just for attention because they were so lonely it was the only contact they had with other people.

No___. The problem is, we don't know if someone is seriously troubled and they are reaching out. It's better to ere on the side of 'helping' than being indifferent.
I've been a counselor for Prevention of Suicide for years - so trust me, if you have a chance, even a slim chance, to turn someone's thoughts from suicide, take the time to do it. Death is final.

That is not as bad as someone who threaten's to kill themselves, because they want you to go out with them, and you turn them down.

You never know when someone may call your bluff! They may even try to make a false attempt and succeed (accidentally).
