When I put in my two weeks notice, the management where I work started treating me badly, so I am quitting sooner. I am afraid they will try and hold my last check. Can they legally do that?

I have quit a lot of jobs (unfortunately) - only one job gave me a 'hard' time. They wanted me to come in face to face instead of just direct deposit or mailing it.... and they wanted their company property (ID badge).

Other than that - when it is the next pay period... I got it just fine.

So if you are sure you don't have anything of theirs.. i think the worst is they make you come in... would be the worst case senerio.

They need to pay you your rightful wage but, you may have company items that need to be returned or they need to release you from a contract before handing your last check over. If none of these are applicable when I would say No!

They can hold yourcheck until the next regularly scheduled payday..They may also require you pick in person.
They may also hold it until you turn in certain items, such as ID badges or tools.
other than that, no.
