People need to stop saying "you're too young" "should wait till marriage" and all that ********..if you can read. She says she's NOT a VIRGIN. Sex ed is being taught in elementary now a days so how is she "TOO YOUNG" to know about this stuff?..wow. She's in high school so therefore she learned about sex since like..10 years ago or so?? Question was never asked if she's too young to know about it or not. She specifically asked "What is Kama Sutra?"
I'll be the only one of the few to actually answer YOUR question without stupid comments.
Kama Sutra is a sex book that came from Ancient India. It's about sexual positions...over hundreds of different positions. Maybe even over thousands. (never read the book). They are suppose to be about very pleasurable sex positions to help climax both partners. You can get it from Barnes and Nobles, Boarders and all the other book stores.
Hope that helped.

It's a an Indian sex philosophy/guide that is centuries old. The majority is different sex positions.
You and your friends sound a bit young to be talking about something like this. There is a movie that was directed by Mira Nair called Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love. I saw that with my high school friends. It really didn't have much to do with Kama Sutra, but it's a silly love story that girls tend to flock to. It might give you a little insight on the history of Kama Sutra.

The Kama Sutra is actually a book that was written a thousand years ago in India. (Okay, I know I could be more clear about who wrote it and when, but I don't have the information readily available - sorry.)
The book is basically an ancient "Dating and Sex for Dummies"; it's full of grooming and personal hygene guidelines, tips for approaching someone you are interested in, decorating advice for setting a romantic atmosphere, etc. There's also a a section of the book that discusses various sexual positions, which is probably what your friends are all giggling about because there are some graphic pictures in this section of the book.
Honestly, it's not that impressive, but I can see how it might amuse a bunch or 14-year olds who don't have access to better sources information.
I applaude you for being brave enough to ask this question, but I would suggest that if you have any questions or concerns about dating and sex that you actually talk to someone who is qualified to answer your questions, like your primary care doctor. They can answer all your questions, your conversation is completely confidential, and you'll have the advantage of of being well-inform with correct and up-to-date information.

Kama Sutra" was first written by the Hindu sage Vatsyayana sometime between the first and sixth century A.D. in India. The text, praised the three aims of life; virtue (dharma), prosperity (artha), and love (kama), The Kamasutra recognized that Life necessitates three kinds of activity to assure its survival. One of these activities is human reproduction, the importance of which is not something to be taken lightly. Thus, the ultimate erotic guidebook was born: The Kama Sutra (kama meaning love and sutra meaning manual).
The products are made without any animal products or animal testing. The Kama Sutra collection is created in perfect harmony with today's interest in well-being - of spirit as well as mind and body. Kama Sutra is not just for lovemaking, it is an offering of body care products designed to add a sensual dimension to all aspects of life. By encouraging intimacy and enhancing sensual awareness, our products enrich the world in which we live and love.

Kama Sutra is a Hindi text that delves into sex and love.
I suggest you go to the library, you will find all of your answers there. Speak with your parents first though before checking out a book of this nature.

The subject of Kama Sutra is geared more for adults than young teens. Although I admire ur honesty in disclosing ur age, the answer to ur question is inappropriate to discuss here and ur younger friends,14/15, should not even be aware of these adult items and books. Knowledge comes with age, dear one, wait until ur older and in a serious relationship or marriage to explore these avenues. If ur younger friends have that kind of knowledge now, it can only lead to trouble.
Steer clear and stay sweet.

If you approach it from the point of view of Hinduism, then all of the above. Intimacy is (or can or should be) the physical action that symbolizes the spiritual, emotional, and psychological unity of people in an interpersonal relationship. This relationship between people is also a relationship WITHIN the Absolute (Brahman.) If you can think of a Prayer Book as a "how to" manual when it comes to "talking to God"... Then you can think of the Kama Sutra as a "how to" manual when it comes to interpersonal intimacy. Each person is an "essence of God."

Kama Sutra is this book written thousands of years ago by a man in India, on a bunch of sex positions. It's not supposed to be hardcore or "dirty sex". It's supposed to be romantic, and a way of showing your love to your WIFE an ONLY YOUR WIFE.
