I live in Florida, and my roses are doing quite nicely. I still have many blooms. However, the summer heat is very hard on the plants. Some of the plants still have significant leaf damage due to the heat and chemicals I use to hold back the fungus and bugs. Should I leave the damaged leafs or remove them?

Thanks
Jim

Oh yes they do because they help in giving more room for the plant to grow, dead leafs only encourage diseases to appear and pests and bugs because bugs are attracted to the dead leafs. Here is a trick in the middle of the plant pinch the 2 top leafs as this encourages faster and new leaf growth to grow.

remove them!!... 'damaged' leaves are doing nothing for the plant and may be harboring some of that disease that you're trying to be rid of..... especially where the leave joins the stem... teensy buggies like to lay eggs there, etc.....this is what rosarians speak about when insisting that we keep the rose's area 'clean'.... old leaves, damaged or infected leaves off the plant and off the ground goes a long way toward making the care easier.....

long-stemmed cut back roses are oftentimes harvested quite a few days before you get carry of them. they won't going root after being separated from the plant for thus long. while rooting cuttings that's consistently suited to apply cuttings that are freshly taken from healthful plant life. you in addition to mght have no way of understanding no count if or no longer chemical aspects have been used on those roses. maximum cut back flowers are heavily sprayed so the blooms would be 'suited'. you in addition to mght do no longer understand the variety of those roses, they could be and maximum possibly are a patented style. that's illegitimate to propagate patented plant life for any reason except you have paid a fee to the grower who superior the plant.
