Antibiotics definately can cause yeast infections (I know from experience). You can purchase a generic yeast infection 7 day cream at Wal Mart or Walgreens rather inexpensively. Unfortunately, the longer you go without treating it, the worse it will spread and the more discomfort that it will cause. Do you have a friend you can borrow the money from? In the mean time you can eat lots of yogurt and you can also stay away from chocolate, foods high in sugar, and high sugar beverages like soda and juice.

Good luck to you!

Yes, antibiotics can certainly give you a yeast infection. I have had this happen to me a number of times.

Although there are many over-the-counter remedies and also some natural home remedies, you should see a doctor to get properly diagnosed and evaluated, especially if this is your first yeast infection, you've had other types of vaginal or urinary tract infection, you've already tried treating yourself and symptoms persist, you have a weakened immune system, you have a fever, chills, nausea, vomiting, abdominal or back pain, bloody discharge, or difficult or increased urination. Go to the hospital immediately, as it may be a serious condition such as kidney infection, appendicitis, or pelvic inflammatory disease, you're with a new sex partner or have had multiple sex partners.

It's important to make sure you don't have a sexually transmitted disease, since the symptoms can be similar.

Vaginal yeast infection can be confused with other conditions, such as:

Bacterial vaginosis - this common condition occurs when there is an imbalance between beneficial and harmful bacteria in the vagina. Bacterial vaginosis can spread through sexual intercourse, but it can also occur in women who douche or use an intrauterine birth control device (IUD). It is also common in pregnancy. Symptoms include a gray, foul-smelling discharge with a fishy odor. The odor is often more noticeable after sexual intercourse.

Good luck :)

Yes being on antibiotics can cause a yeast infection. You might try soaking in a warm tub of water without anything in it to irritate you (like bubble bath, etc.) There really isn't a lot to do. You can try eating yogurt. Some people say it helps. You really need some Monistat or something like it. Wal-Mart has a generic equivilent I think. Hope you feel better!

No soda. Plain yogurt. I don't know how you're going to get it in there, but it's a natural remedy. The meds are not very expensive, if you go to Wal-Mart and buy a generic...

The yeast flourish on any sugars dumped into your urine. Soda just makes things worse.
