I don't understand why some Middle Eastern countries are allowed to have nuclear weapons while others aren't? Isn't this a double standard? I mean if Iran had a nuke they surely wouldn't use it on Israel because then they would get hit with hundreds of Israeli nukes, right? So why aren't they allowed to have one?

I'm not sure how Pakistan got nukes... But they have them and that can not be turned back. Syria also has nuclear capabiltities. Something that was just realized by the world. If Iran had nukes, they would threaten and probably use them on Israel and the US and any other country they thought was an ali. We are living in a very scary and unstable time. Let's not forget that there are thousands of people living a nightmare in these countries. Regular family people trying to eek out a life in a war torn region.

MAD (that's mutually assured destruction) is a bad idea we know from experience. It results in escalation. Israel has had theirs for a while and, golly gee, they haven't used them! On the other hand, the nations that have openly committed themselves to the annihilation of Israel haven't followed through. I'm sure even you can see the connection.
Iran, on the other hand, has clearly announced their intention to use them against Israel (yes, they did. Some morons think just because they said "Aww, shucks, we were just kidding" that it's all right now).
Not to mention that the rest of world with leaders who's IQ's are in triple digits don't want those lunitics to have them.

Israel, a modern, free democracy run by a peaceful, sane, & careful government is perfectly capable of owning nukes in a responsible way. Now, is Iran proning World peace? Do you honestly think they have enough of what it takes (in a global peace context) to be allowed to own such weapons? I honestly don't think so! The world has no reason to trust them, and we should beware of such terrorism as that proned by the current Iranian government. We've already had a taste of Islamic terrorism...
