Take your time researching online universities. The most important thing is that it is accreditied. There are many online programs like Kaplan,National University and University of Phoneix that specialize in online and accelerated degrees. Many private universities like Chapman, Hope International and Grand Canyon University and some state extended ed programs like CSUDH offer online degrees as well. That is great that they will accept past units for electives. If you are able to get your degree online, go ahead. There are many advantages. Many people spent their younger days communting to school and completing their degrees the traditional way. They want a change and more flexibility with their schedule. There may be some biased employers that may hold the view online degrees are bought, not earned. If a student is paying big $$$$ to earn their degree online, it must be bought. In actuality, online univeristies require a contract binding the student to the program's goals. In order for the Degree to be earned, the student needs to have a high GPA and required thesis or project. There is a difference between private industry and the public sector in qualifications. Performance vs. achievement. If an online degree was earned from a university that also awards traditional degrees, the employer will not know the degree was earned online anyway. Good luck!

No. Employers will not respect an online college degree.

There is a big difference between being accredited and being respected.
