Lately I have been having an achy feeling in my left lower abdomen, in my pelvic area. Its like I'm sore in this area, especially when I move I can feel it. I would think that I was possibly pregnant, but I had my period about a week and a half ago. This pain has been going on for about 2 weeks and I'm not sure what it could be. Can anyone help me?

Pain in the lower left abdomen/pelvis often suggests an ovarian cyst, ectopic pregnancy, pyelonephritis, inflammatory bowel disease and diverticulitis, but it can also make appendicitis very unlikely.

Though most cases of abdominal pain aren't serious, sometimes medical treatment is essential. Consult your doctor if:

- The pain is severe, recurrent or persistent
- The pain gets worse
- You can't eat because of the pain
- You also have a high fever or chills along with the pain

Seek emergency help if:

- The pain is accompanied by shortness of breath, dizziness, bleeding, vomiting or a high fever
- The abdominal pain is sudden and severe
- The pain radiates to your chest, neck or shoulder
- You vomit blood
- You find blood in your stool or your stool turns black
- You find blood in your urine
- Your abdomen is swollen and tender

Be prepared to describe the pain, including where it hurts and what it feels like. Proper diagnosis and treatment can help you feel your best again.

Good luck :)

I'm not sure. The appendix is on the other side. Sounds like your ovary may have a cyst. When's the last time you had a well woman checkup? If this pain is significant, you should probably head to the dr's office.

Get to a gyn asap cause it sounds like a cyst. I have dealt with those all my life and I can tell you if you let it go too long and it ruptures you are going to be in a world of hurt. The cysts that form are not the normal ovulation cysts and really need to be looked into.

There could be a number of reasons for your pain and therefore, I don't want to speculate. The bottom line is you need to see a doctor about this. The sooner the better.

May be a yeast infecion, but sounds more like a urinary tract infection. Check the symptom checker on www.webmd.com and see a Dr to be safe. Good Luck, God Bless!
