Venus.
Comet Holmes is in the north *west* at dawn. And while it's bright, as comets go, it's nowhere nearly as bright as Venus. A casual observer would not notice that there is an extra "star" in Perseus.

In the east you say. Can´t be Venus. Venus sets in the west at midnight. Could be comet 17p/Holmes but it is only barely visible with the naked eye. I certainly can´t see it without a telescope. Could it be Mars? Mars rises in the northeast after 5 am.
-edit-
Wait a minute... The sun doesn´t rise at 6 pm and set at 2 am in Alaska!!! Somethings wrong here. It IS Venus you are seeing...

Venus is the bright object in the morning sky. The comet is in the northern sky and is nowhere near as bright as Venus.

It is Venus. It is frequently the brightest object in the sky other than the Sun and Moon. I am always surprised by how people seem to be surprised by it. I guess that is because it spends so much of its time hidden in the glare of the Sun, low on the horizon or in twilight.

Divide the gap via the fee of light and you gets the time you prefer. The Alpha Centauri device is closest to Earth. Alpha Centauri C is the closest of the three stars in the device. never considered it, myself, regardless of the undeniable fact that A and B are a effective double in a telescope.

It's a comet, actually. Comet Holmes recently had an outburst of some kind--it spewed a bunch of material out into space. That material is forming a little cloud around the comet, which is what you're seeing.
