it's amazing where all these possums hide really isn't it, I have only seen 2 in the daylight and they are hidden in the tree on our fenceline and for some reason came out early

What do you call normal circumstances? I have seen a few while driving. There was a whole family of them crossing the road. I was able to avoid hitting any.

They hide during the daytime. I grew up in the country and we used to see them come oujt at night all the time. I remember that once we did see one in the day- it was hiding in an empty stormpipe we had running under our driveway.

Well, no. Because they're nocturnal, it would take an abnormal circumstance to have them about during daylight. It's possible for them to move around (they aren't vampires) but when they can, they prefer to sleep until dark.
