Well, everyone has their own opinion. BUT I can say I have had no problems while on the shot - which is what I am on now. I have not gained weight Ive actually lost, I still have a sex drive, and I dont have to worry about taking a pill every day. Everyones body reacts diffrently to medication. Yes it can cause you to stop having a period but if you discuss this with your doctor you will learn that that is totally safe, and was even a plus for me. Your body doesnt produce the stuff it is getting rid of when you are on your period. Anyway, its something to research, pretty much everything on the market has its plus and minus's the patch cannot be used if your over 140-150 lbs, the pill made me crazy, like i said everything has its drawbacks. So your best bet will be to talk to your Dr but I did want to step in and say that the shot is not all bad.

The shot often causes no bleeding at all for 3 months and then all the sudden you are gushing. In my personal experience the pill is much better...its not healthy to not bleed once a month. Some women on the shot even experience paranoia from not bleeding. consult your medical professional.

No it is a horrible choice actually.
Many women suffer horrible health problems and serious side affects being on the shot. I'm appalled its still being administered.

I wouldnt say its a good choice.
I've heard alot of people who fall into BAD depression after getting the shot and gain MASSIVE weight. My cousin gained over 50 pounds while she was on it and Didnt lose it after. It also messes some people real bad.
Also while on the shot you lose bone mass which can later lead to osteoporosis. I dont know about you but i wanna have healthy bones when i get old.
I'd say stick to
*The Pill
*The Mini Pill
*Mirena
*Nuvaring
*The Patch (has ALOT of hormones)
*Paraguard

I didn't think so. While convenient, the side effects are wicked. The completely took away my sex drive (so what's the point, right?). It made my sister have her period for three months straight.
