you know how sometimes you might be going round a corner and forget to indicate, and the other person gets quite angry at you.......well a sorry light would come in handy!!! I know you can use hazards etc but an out and out sorry light would be great!!!

Having an out and out sorry light would mean that people would be in no doubt that you are apologising, everyone would start to be more courteous, people would get nicer and before you know it....we would have world peace........OMG i am a genius!!!!!!

There is a better way forward. People should start reading the Highway Code again. I don't know what other people think but the majority of people don't know how to negotiate a roundabout. Many of them forget they have a right hand indicator, just keep the left one on, and keep travelling so that nobody actually knows when they are going to turn off. Others drive in the wrong lane and expect everybody else to be mind readers. Over the past two weeks, I have nearly been hit by cars on three occasions coming off a roundabout near where I live. I also ride a bike and where a prang between cars would normally only damage the vehicles, I dread to think what might happen if these idiots hadn't eventually managed to stop. All it needs is for all drivers to think a little more carefully whenever they take to the road.

ok.. then what about this for a scenario...
I was riding my xj900 to the local morrisons, to get some odds and ends..
Approx time 7,30pm... I had the headlight on, a hi vis bib and a Mick Doohan arai replica crash helmet.. basically, bright orange is the main colour on the lid..
I;m heading round a roundabout... with my right indicator going til I need to come of.. and whoosh... straigt infront of me from my left comes a wench in a corsa.. F*****g mobile fone stuck to her ear.. no lights on the car either.. I managed to do an emergency stop... while she just continued on her merry way.
Now.. that roundabout isent small.. its basically underneath a flyover... theres larges amounts of traffic going over it (flyover) and also round it.. I felt like following her and going totally ape... that roundabout is also prone to diesel spills from the lorries and busses that traverse it...
now.. the point of my ickle story...
what good would a little light be on the car.. when this stoopid cow dident even see me?
She was too busy to put her car lights on.. 2 hours past lighting up time.. what chance have yougot in getting her to flip a switch to go "sorry i nearly killed you, and emulated that nice advert from the TV!"
oh almost forgot.. she wasent indicating either..
and she waset a young thing either.. she looked to be mid 30's.. since I got quite a good look at her.. as she went infront of me at a distance of about 6ft..
oh..sorry for this.. but.. one other thing.. since I braked should I have apologised and flicked the little light switch to the boy racer who almost ran into the back of me cos he was driving way too close?

Yeah, that and a "BACK OFF" light. I've had my PERMIT for about 5 months now and I already hate everyone on the road because they don't know what the stinking 2 second rule is.

It would be nice, but people should actually just drive properly in the first place. I don't think many of them would actually be sorry either... maybe that's just a pessimistic opinion, but most people don't seem to be that aware of pedestrians/other drivers generally.

Definitely the thought is good, however
it's my opinion that when you need to use the "sorry" light, the other driver will say SORRY my a__!
If you were sorry you wouldn't have been a jerk in the first place.

Ha ha that would be great, then I could stop making that dumb face that I think says oooops sorry but is sometimes mistaken for a " that was your fault you willy". ( or i could just make everyone a lot safer and catch the bus)

Real cute question, might work for women but most men won't admit when they've made a driving error xx
