A few weeks ago I got a fish that had ich. I removed him from the tank and started treating him, but i think the ich spread to the main tank. I bought some ich treatment that said it was reef safe so I am going to add that, but should I stop adding the additives for corals while I am treating my tank?

Don't stop the additives! You kill your coral. And I wouldn't be surprised if the ich treatment isn't really reef safe and kills your corals and inverts especially. You should have inspected him more closely before you bought him anyway. Unless the ick only showed up in your display tank, if so, you must have provided him ample time to infect everyone else. If I were you I would take out each fish and treat them in a quarantine tank, rather than risk your corals. I Hope I have helpful.

The reason Ick appeared in the main tank was because you never removed it (the Ick PARASITE, not bacteria, from the water) when you saw the first sick fish. You need to continue to add your coral's additives, or else they will just die off as they run out of nutrients. Treat for the Ick and "feed" your corals at the same time...

You should stop the additives first when applying ick treatment cause the Ick bacteria will surely house the added corals. Just use additives once again when you are sure that the Ick is gone from your tank.

Personally, I dont think it would matter if you put both in at the same time.
