Should there be implantation bleeding once you already tested positive for pregnancy?

My understanding is that hcg doesn't start being produced until implantation. So if you are already positive on a pregnancy test, should you have implantation bleeding a few days later?

Not necessarily, I'm 22 weeks pregnant now and I did not have implantation bleeding.

You dn't produce HCG until implantation but just because you spotted after a pos. pregnancy test dosen't mean that it cant be implantation bleeding.

Was the blood bright red or more brown.

It may have just taken a few days to come out, and it may be from something else that's no big deal. I bled for a week after I got my first pos. pregnancy test, and i'm 37.5 weeks now, so no worries!!!!

Implantation happens before a positive test.

if you have a positive test then you should have had your implantation bleeding already. You cannot get a positive test unless you are already pregnant which means you would have had an implant in your uterus.

It's different with everyone. Some people spot before the period is due. Some people spot all throughout the first trimester. Some people don't spot at all.

As long as you're not bleeding heavier than spotting, there's a wide variety of what's considered normal, so always call your doc if you're seeing something you're concerned about.

The day I took my test and it came out positive, about an hour or two later I had a little spotting.

You can. I had it at 8 weeks with my son, and I found out when I was 6 weeks that I was pregnant. I went to the ER when I was 18 weeks pregnant with him because I had the dark spotting and the doctor told me that women can have it throughout their pregnancy because sometimes it takes a while for the blood to work its way out. Any spotting, however, dark or red should be reported to your OB/GYN.
