It would be a BIG deal if he was. Even though it would be more cause for a celebration if anything else.

If they wanted to keep the ruse going, they'd use one of his doubles to do a stand in public appearance. Just like Saddam did while he was hiding in his spider hole.

He was on a recent PBS interview last week. He has been sick, but is still kicking. Several of my hubby's relations are into their 100s, so theoretically Castro can hang on for a couple more decades (though odds are that he won't last another 5 years).

Well.. you've never seen me, I don't make public appearances... do you think I'm dead too?

You see, just because a person's famous doesn't mean he/she has to be seen or heard every now and then. They have a life too.. and not just "idols" or "the famous people" that people want or do not want to see or hear from... It has absolutely nothing to do with that. Besides, how many people actually wanna be constantly stalked by the media 24/7.. people are ridiculous these days.

He may be, but I doubt it. I'm sure the government would want to make the occasion a national day of rememberance and mourning and to continue pounding the communist message to the people.

It really doesn't matter as power was transferred to his brother. If he is alive, he is a sick old man who knows he doesn't have the energy to rule anymore.

I hope so, the sooner the better.

It'll be better for the US and Cuba when he's gone.

I want Cuba to be a haven for organized crime again, like the good ol' daze:(
