Friend,

I read somewhere long back thus.:

Our ingress into world nobody knows from where,

Our egress from the world nobody knows to where .

Our progress through the world is in your hands.

I forgot the rest.

You have to give meaning to the life by living a meaningful life.Love all .Hate none.Help to the extent possible.Be humane.
Certainly there is a purpose behind our arrival into this wonderful world. We have to explore it at live a life that has some meaning.

Your question really concerns whether God exists or not.

If we reject God, we're left with inventing things to do that keep us busy and focused on happy thoughts so that we won't think about a meaningless existence.

If we accept that our Creator might exist, then we can see that He must have put our need for purpose into our human nature to point us to Him.

The Christian idea is that God proposes (i.e. has a purpose) to make us His sons and daughters. We start by seeking God. We seek God by trying to obey His command to love our neighbor for where love is, there God is also.

A most subjective question.

Religions say it's to discover God amidst all the distractions and temptations.

The book, "Hitch-hiker's guide to the galaxy" by Douglas Adams has a humorous, light-hearted answer to this question (it's a highly acclaimed book and it's thin).

That is the question that everyone seems to ponder one time or another in their life. Everyone has there own meaning why we, humans, are here on the this planet. I guess to answer your question is you have to come up with your own answer. Live your life to the fullest, overwise it will pass, and you will be trying to play catch-up becuase you missed out.

This is the 64 dollar question. Regardless of what anyone says, you can only answer for your own life.

life does not have to have a purpose. life is our interactions with others. it is a random encounter with people that make up our life experiences.

have fun, help others,(impeach bush), and leave a world you would want to live in when you die, and dont be afraid ask questions, make, mistakes, and dont waste your time being angry at things, change them.(even if that meens shaving your head because your hair hates you) and hopfully you understand how truly insignificant you are, and its evertone else that matters

I think that the meaning of life is either to die, or to get closer to God for those of you who are religious. Because when you think about it, everybody dies, so it COULD be the meaning of life.
