Anyone watch "Shallow Hal"? Do some humans really have "tails"? My gf has a nub on her tail bone and I am wondering if she has a tail or if she can wiggle it? I dont want to offend her by asking. Thanks!

ur gf will not be able to "wiggle the tail bone" only because tht bone is RIGHT UNDER the skin...U can move ur hands, face feet heck even ur penis only cause u've got MUSCLE to move ur bones which lie beneath....no matter how big a person's tail bone gets....he/she will never be able to wiggle it cause theres no muscle tissue supporting it...and please dont tell this to ur gf ..she prolly know about this and may get really embarrassed...hope I helped...

Then I would suggest not asking her. Actually tails do occur, but are quite rare, as our species and our cousins, the chimps and gorrillas, lost our tails millennia ago. But still on occasion, like less than 1 in a milllion births, a child is born with a tail, sometimes quite prominent and long. It is usually removed before the child leaves the hospital.

the so called "tail bone" is NOT a vestigial tail, it is a bony prominence that protects the spinal cord as it fans out into what is called the cauda equina.
