do some buttocks exercises
if she has a firm bum, she won't have the butt sinks.

Let's go a little deeper than the context of your question...

You're "far to into" your daughter's swimming "perfection" at the age of 6 years old...

And saying it's "butt sink," is very "insensitive" and "far too evidential" of your "almost obsessive" "focusing" on the wrong things about the experience of watching your daughter learning the technique of swimming the backstroke...

I recommend the next time your daughter is swimming, enjoy the "experience" of simply "being" with her in the same pool area, take a deep breath, countcha' blessings, enjoy the Vicodin you popped an hour ago, and...

(I'm assuming this question was asked with a "tongue-in-cheek" manner, and with an irreverent "intent," or I am going to be forced to spank you...)

Don't give a gosh darn about her "swimming technique" unless you're officially training her for the Olympics, and...

Enjoy life without "caring" about such petty and unwarrantedly "inventive" concerns that now currently occupy your mind...

Who cares about "but sink...?!?"

That's just crazy...(and even if you meant this to be a funny question taken straight out of the show "Weeds,"...)

It's still not funny...but lol, anyway...touche'

when your head is not looking strait at the ceiling, your hips will sink into the water more. Trust me, thats why I swim butterfly. But if you want to help your daughter improve, just teach her to put her head straight back, and her butt should be more straight. Thats what my coach tells me.
Good Luck!

Kick from her hips instead of her knees. If her whole leg is kicking, it will keep her butt up. Also keeping her butt tucked in and her stomach tight might help, but it might be hard for a 6-year-old.

have her kick a lot more, and tell her to try to bring her hips closer to the surface. you could also have her practice simply floating, since this would get her into the habit of lying flat in the water instead of bent with her bottom sinking.

the person to help her with this is her coach(es) as he/she/they should know what to do. I work with the 5-7 year olds on my team and its really hard for them to always keep their hips up.

My suggestions:

Definitely talk to the coach(es) . He/she/they are the ones working with her at practice.

Encourage her to kick more when she swims.... but make sure she knows to keep her legs straight.

Tell her to "poke her tummy up like Santa clause. this helps kids know what to do to get their hips up.

Hope this helps.

she is only six, give her time to develop more motor skills, this takes time and cannot be forced. I am a swim teacher and know that young children will never be able to perfect tecnique, as they become older they will become much much better. give her time, and do not push her too much, allow her to have fun swimming.

I know this is a little complex for a 6-year-old but make sure she is rotating her hips forward

You have to try and keep your back straight and kick HARD. That should keep her butt up....
