The MVP voting is for the regular season, and is done BEFORE the playoffs even start. So you can't really argue with the season that he had, regardless of what he does in the playoffs.

M.V.P.- Most Valuable Player, Without AROD, the Yankees would be the next Devil Rays. AROD as always is one of the more popular characters in baseball, although he may be a CLOWN. He is a great baseball player and has the numbers to prove it. He has 40+ homeruns, which now adays with the steroid era passed us. (Hopefully.) Is hard to do. Not all players can also get minor league offers saying they will not pay him as much if he doesn't hit over 75 homeruns. Not that he'll accept it. He is not a bad third basemen although, since he has opted out of his deal probably will be a shortstop again where his pride and joy. Oh, and also not all MVP's make it to the World Series.

Well MVP does stand for Most Valuable Player. If the Yanks didnt have A-Rod they probably would have been like 4th in their division. The fact is that A-Rod led the league in homeruns and RBI's, had a pretty good batting average, and was a great player all throughout the season. You dont have to have your team win the World Series to win the MVP. The MVP is about the postseason, not the postseason.

the mvp is based on the regular season not the playoffs
and in case you werent paying attention arod is pretty much exclusively responsible for the yankees staying as close as they did in the first half of the season, when the reast of his team finally started to pick it up
mvp means the most valueable player to his team, that means the guy that, without him, his team would go nowhere
id say that the only guy in baseball who comes anywhere close to arod in that definition is vlad
had arod not been there the yanks never even would have made the playoffs

Yeah this is true! The yankees should take Arod's 25mil and spend it on free agents with heart and pride and chemistry, like Aaron Rowand who is tough as nails and plays every game like his last.Ditto Mike Lowell. And if absolutely necessary,go out and trade for Johan Sanata!!! Arod can go and stick his MVP up his @SS!! That MVP should go to BIG POPPI! Who played every game with his heart and soul,The guy played every game hurt!! he deserves it more the PAY ROD!!! And he brought his 2nd world series to boston!! Arod just brought BAGGAGE TO NY!!!

The answer is really a very simple one, how about 314-54-156 and 24 stolen bases. There is no stipulation in MLB that the MVP has to come from a team in the world series.

MVP means most valuable player. The Yankees would not done as well w/ out him. He dominated the league in HRs and RBI. He had a very good defensive season. He did NOT win playoff MVP. The award goes for what happened during the season

Here is what he did to get MVP, every time the Yankees were losing he made an out or hit into a double play. That's why for 4 years he got nothing but boos from Yankees fans.
It's funny everyone loves him, except for the fans of the teams he's played on.

sure, he's severe. The reporter truly did ask Obama that. Obama spoke back that its unhappy and went right into a splash greater component. He did say that it replaced into sturdy that baseball sees it has a difficulty and is working to restoration it, and that he's fearful with regard to the effect it could have on the babies.

The MVP is about the player who is most important to their team during the REGULAR SEASON. There is a postseason MVP as well. He had the best year of any player since the 40s. Get over it, her is a great player, the best in the game.
