if you were starving to death and you had no other choice, could you chop off your arm and eat it? (pretend you would not bleed to death) Would it make you sick? Could you give yourself a disease?

You could, but it would be absolutely pointless anyway. When you are starving your body will essentially eat itself away by breaking down the molecules that make up cells and conserve energy by limiting blood supply to the extremities.

I suppose you could eat it, but you would be consuming your own body anyway while starving, so, what would be the point.

I wouldn't want to do it, but I think I could. After I've had babies, seen my child in a horrible accident, and taught school (even a few years with some junior high classes), I think I could manage. Pass the steak sauce, please.
