I understand how to wire all the speaker wires, the black gets grounded, theres a yellow with a fuse that controls the clock. does the yellow and the red wires go directly to the batteries? does it matter which battery? is it correct if I go straight to the batteries, that means there will be power to the radio at all times, even if the ignition is off.........is that ok?

Looking at the wiring schematic would be helpful I would think That your clock wire would go to Constant hot. (battery power) your red would go to a fuse that is only hot with the key on. Remember NEVER run a hot with to any power source without it being fused. that will keep you from burning up the radio and the car in case of a short. Try and put the fuse as close to your power source as possible.

It's a little confusing what you're trying to do here. What I suspect is you need to know what wire goes where in a golf cart. Depending on how many batteries there are would determine if they were 6 volt or twelve volt, I suspect 6 volt. The ignition switch should control the radio and the ability to go. If the radio is wired directly to batteries it might run the battery down in a months time. Therefore, it is better to have a switch in line somewhere or use the switch internal to the radio. Most radios require 12 volts.
Start, therefore, with the most negative wire terminal, that is - find the main negative cable from the batteries, it's a big one. Now, this battery positive should go to the next battery negative (you only have 6 volts now) When you go across the second battery to the positive (the twelve volt point) terminate your radio fuse wire on that battery positive post. If you're curious, try it momentarily, it might blow the in-line fuse if something is wrong.
The clock fuse wire should clamp with the red wire on 2nd battery if it is a12 volt clock.
There are so many variables, more information is really needed to help you with detail.
