I think it is VERY childish and immature, even for 13 year olds. Those who feel the need to trash talk others, especially behind their backs, are insecure people who need to look at themselves before judging others. You don't insult people and if you do, at least have the decency to go up to that person and tell them what you think about them. Talking behind someone's back is dirty and cowardly.

Sounds like it's time for you to make some new friends.

When you say that your friends trash people in this burn book it is describing exactly what the contents are......trash, plain and simple.Anyone can write stories about someone and they don't even have to be true or be substantiated. It is not harmless fun but is a cruel and cowardly way of judging others. This type of witch hunt can really hurt someone, especially since the contents probably should be taken with a grain of salt. I can't tell you what to do but how would you feel if your name was in the book .No one should say or write anything that they don't have the courage to say to another in person.

they just have a burn book because when they saw it in mean girls, they probably thought that all popular high school girls have burn books. that is 100% wrong. it's stupid, and the burn book was entirely made up just for the movie. when i was 13 i thought high school girls always had a boyfriend, went out on dates all the time, go have "spa days" with their friends, etc. well, they don't. i'm 16 and have now learned that this is not true. if you feel confident enough, just tell them that you are not going to participate in the burn book because you find it uselessly mean. i'll tell you right now that within a year they'll grow out of it. it's really just their age. you are very mature for your age if you can see how dumb this whole burn book thing is. their stage won't last long. just remember that nobody is making you be a part of it.

I think that it is really mean to have a burn book. People seem insecure if they are constantly complaining about others. Maybe you should drop those "friends" and escape the immaturity you will find lingering throughout the coming years.

My overall opion is that:

1) They probably think they're being really cool by copying the idea of a burn book that the popular girls in Mean Girls had.

2) They have low self-esteem, thus they try to make themselves feel better by making fun of others.

3) They have nothing better to do than to examine the flaws of and spend excessive time making fun of people.

and 4) They're probably not your best choice for friends; how do you know that you're not in there?

i think it is stupid. totally ignore it. your friends probably want you to ask them to be able to read it. like to make you feel left out or upset. i cant stand middle school kids. some of the stuff they do. act like you dont care, or you could tell your guidance counselor and they will step in. they just want to be cool thinking they are doing what high school girls are doing.. which they dont. im in 10th grade and i have never heard of any one with a burn book in my school

honestly, if they didn't tell you that they had a burn book, they probably aren't your friends.

it's not like it matters anyways. girls will hate them and guys will think they're trying to be lindsay lohans. ( which is not what most guys want)

they're just lame. get newer, nicer, funner friends. chances are, they make up half of the burn book materials. tell them to stop trying to be barbie dolls and get a life that actually has some self esteem.

Yea, be mature and ignore it.
Copying Mean Girls is not popular or cool in anyway.
If you want to vent they already invented a book for that.
It's called a diary.
Emawee you're a dork.

I agree it is immature. But if u just ignore it, it shows that your better than them. You can just tell them that its stupid. They only bring others down in their "Burn Book" to make them feel better about themselves. If I were you I would just stay as far away from them as I could and have to say in it.
