Because the Patriots seem to run up the score

Tony Dungy seems to me to be a very principled man.

I read part of his new book "Quiet Strength: the Principles, Practices, & Priorities of a Winning Life."
and in it he espouses many Christian virtues and has many quotes from the Bible in his book.
...putting a "hit" on someone or to take someone out in a cheap shot kind of way doesn't seem like the kind of thing he would approve of.

1-23-07 Palm Beach Post - Dungy said,
"I really wanted to show people you can win all kinds of ways. I always coached the way I've wanted to be coached. I know Lovie has done the same thing. For guys to have success where it maybe goes against the grain, against the culture ... I know I probably didn't get a couple of jobs in my career because people could not see my personality or the way I was going to do it ... For your faith to be more important than your job, for your family to be more important than that job ... We all know that's the way it should be, but we're afraid to say that sometimes. Lovie's not afraid to say it and I'm not afraid to say it."

Dungy has shown he is willing to make sacrifices to do what is right...and so IF the Patriots were to get way ahead, I don't think he would in any way, shape, or form advocate any cheap shots of any kind.

If you mean ‘hit’ as in try to hurt Brady…then NO.
Dungy was not that kind of player and I don’t believe him to be that kind of coach.
Of course, one of the objectives of the pass rush is to get to and ultimately sack the QB. At the very least, to get in his face and make it “uncomfortable” for him.
I’m sure that NE’s pass rushers will be trying to do the same.
At least I HOPE that’s all they’ll be trying to do.
I don’t know what to think of NE now since…well…you know…they got caught cheating.
Whatever the outcome, I just want it to be a good, clean game.
I hope the refs watch out for the holding that NE’s Olinemen constantly get away with.
I pick Indy to win in a squeaker.
No more than a 3 or 4 point margin.

This is horrible... all this talk about getting a cheap shot on a team just because they can't control the score. This is football ya know? I mean... everyone is all up in arms about him scoring so many points on Gibbs... Gibbs did it in 83 against the Cardinals (42-7) and the Rams in the playoffs (51-7) and everyone is all like "How dare Belichick do that to a football legend like Gibbs?" He's done it too... thank you, come again.

Tony Dungy is a class act.

He is a born again Christian, and Football is not the most important thing to him.

He wants to see his team play hard, and hopefully that will be enough for a win, if not, then there is always next week.

He said if the Patriots were running up the score . What makes you think that's going to happen against the Colts ?

Just be glad they are not playing a Buddy Ryan coached team. He put out a bounty on a Kicker one time!!!
