Was the one on BBC taken over by the NBC version or are they still separate?

In other words: are there still seasons being made?

Please don't just answer yes or no and explain what happened

The BBC version was just two series and two Christmas specials.
The NBC version came out after the BBC one was over.

The original BBC version ended two years ago (the final episode being the Christmas Special).

The NBC version is an adaptation of Ricky Gervais' creation and as such is totally different from the original (despite the use of some character names).

BBC America is starting reruns of the original BBC series this Friday night (both UK seasons are on DVD).

The UK office is over... I think it ended after The Office Christmas special about 2years ago or something, maybe a little less than that.

The US/NBC Office is a different show entirely, not a continuation. It shared a pilot episode script and there are the same character types, but it's not at all a continuation.
