Sometimes we don't really have much choice. I had to stop working recently because my husband is ill, but I am working hard looking after him. I would love to be able to "work" for a few hours a week to get away from it.

Hello Kitkat. I retire every night around ten pm. But if you mean from work, then if I could I would go on working till I dropped dead. But I can't. Due to a number of redundancies I was laid off work far before my -"Use By" Date. So I employed myself as a Gardener, odd-job man etc. Later as a Medium. But the time to worry as my good friend said yesterday, is when they they no longer sing you-Happy Birthday, cos' your dead. I'm 72 in December, and I have to do something, or I'd go round the bend with boredom.

Hopefully I sooner than 65. I am hoping that I wont have to work for long when I have my kids. And that my husband will have good enough job that with his retirement money we will be ok. But then again now days it takes 2 million dollars to retire. So I will probably be working till I die........

Any time after 65 would be a good candidate. A lot depends on my health at the time. The older I get, the better I was!

Im with you hon, retirement at 65 is a pure fantasy for Generation X and younger. Lets not fool ourselves, and just try to do something about it.
