How soon can a stethoscope detect the babies heartbeat? Can it detect the heartbeats as early as four weeks? Also, one more miscarriage question. They day before my triplet miscarriage all of the triplets heartbeats was out of rhythm. They would beat twice. I wouldn't hear anything until five seconds. Then I would slow weird sounding heartbeats. What was the cause of the miscarriage? It was not a healthy heartbeat.

I don't think you can hear the heartbeat until around 16 wks. And with the miscarriage its not uncommon for the body to terminate one of the babies. Kind of like a vanishing twin just vanishing triplet.

Four weeks is too early to hear a baby's heartbeat with a stethoscope. I have heard varying reports on when this is possible, but most things I have read have told me around at least 21 weeks. I do not know about the cause of the miscarriage but I would think it would have something to do with it.

4 weeks is far too early to hear a heartbeat. Usually from 8wks it starts beating.

4 Weeks Pregnant

The Baby
The dot in your belly now measures 1 millimeter. It's dividing very rapidly and beginning to show some structure already. The young embryo is busy creating the placenta and umbilical cord, followed by the spinal cord and then the brain. In a week, work on the gastrointestinal organs will start

8 Weeks Pregnant

The Baby
By now your baby is approximately three-quarters of an inch (2 centimeters) long and weighs about a gram. He keeps on developing at a rapid speed: the beginnings of a skeleton are being created, with cartilage prior to the actual formation of bones. The little heart has started beating at about 60 times a minute, the stomach produces gastric juices, the liver makes blood cells and the brain starts working. Now the resemblance to a tadpole is quite clear, because webbed fingers and toes appear on the hands and feet! In the meantime, your little bean is growing pretty fast: less than two weeks ago he was the size of a grain of rice, now he's as big as your thumbnail.

i dont think you can detect heartbeats until 7 weeks (hearing through a stethascope or doppler machine) on the triplet thing it is a hard one you would have to speak to a health proffesional about that.
