Oh,my.This brings back a sad memory.I knew a lady,a mom of 5,who had terminal cancer. She taught even her youngest, age 6,how to took, clean,do laundry, etc. She also left a special, individualized videotape to each child, saying good-bye and telling each son or daughter how much she loves them.
In my book,she's a hero.
May she rest in peace.

(I suppose I'd have to find the strength and courage somehow to do the same,as I am a mom of 4).

I would leave 12 months early to prepare them for the inevitable.

split up my stuff so everyone got what i wanted them to have. take a trip and spend some time together. apologize to them. right any unspoken wrongs. i would take all the money i had saved and blow it all on a crazy weekend! (gotta have some outrageous fun) try to give them my advice on life (even though it may be little) i would write a childrens book for my kids detailing my life before them, and with them, also what i hope their lives are like after me. i would do the same for my wife/girlfriend. i would teach them as much as i could. i would also write them a letter to be opened on significant days of their lives (ie graduation, wedding, birth of a child, etc.)

I couldn't. You can never prepare your family to live without you. Its like a shower with no water. Its broken and useless.

This is a good Q as no one is really prepared. My children would be my main priority. Do you know, you put have me on the spot and i'll be giving my thoughts on what would be worst scenario. It's true what they say, you take life for granted.

this has happened to me so i know how difficult it can be to deal with. Each person is different and so are the relasionships within families.. only the person who is ill or dying can decidewhat to do.
Depression can take a hold and stop the dying person from thinking straight.

They'd never know. In fact, nobody would know I had died until the neighbors complained about the smell...

...and they're almost used to that!

i'd just make the most of the time i had left. make ppl laugh and love each other, and realize that no one is guaranteed tomorrow, to make the most of today.
