I am going to be induced this week, Wednesday, but I am in so much pain now! I have cramps and I can't sleep and I am so uncomfortable. I am dilated and effaced, but I have to wait till Wednesday to be induced. If I go to the hospital, how can I convince them that I need to be induced NOW!!!???

Call your doctor and tell him that you are in a lot of pain. They may agree to do it earlier. Tell them that you can't eat due to the cramps/pain, and that you have a temperature. If that doesn't work, many midwives use Castor oil to start labor.

Trying to convince them is like trying to pull teeth! Painful and gets you nowhere!

Unfortunately I know no doctors that haven't heard the same speech before and usually unless exceptional circumstances arrive, you will have to wait it out or hope that it happens naturally sooner.

The only thing you could try is tell them that you have been having contractions on and off that range in intensity and maybe once they have you in there and see your pleading puppy dog eyes, they might take pity and induce! Usually though they book you in according to how many other women they have booked and staff availability. You don't want to have to share a birthing room and have no staff to help deliver now do you?

I really feel sorry for you! I know its tough at the end and you just want it to be all over but these couple of extra days might be enough for your body to do it naturally which is going to be hell of a lot better than an induction.

Best of luck and hang in there! Try sex to bring on labour!

If you think you're going into labor time your contractions. When they get close to being 5 - 2 minutes apart go to the hospital. Or you can go now if you're hurting that bad. They might admit you. You may have your baby before Wednesday. That's what happened to me. My due date was 4 July 07. I went for a check up on 6 June 07. My doctor told me she wanted to induce on 18 June 07 because my baby was already weighing 8 lbs and she didn't want me to have any complications while delivering. I went home feeling fine, but later that night I went into labor and my baby was born 07 June 07.

With the first baby my doctor told me it would be easier and he induced me a week early and then with the second baby he let me get induced 3 weeks early bc my husbands grandmother had cancer and we thought she wouldn't make 3 more weeks.... a year later she is still here to find out baby number 3 is on the way. Try walking.

If your in labor, and your cervix has changed since your last appointment, then they may induce you early. Just because your uncomfortable though will not be a legitimate reason for them to induce you. Have you tried warm baths, massages, walking, or even sleeping? Hang in there, your almost there.

any medical reason really that could harm you or your baby for example i had coleostasis when i was preg so they had to induce me but they still waited till i was 28 weeks. It sounds like you could be in the beginning of labour to be honest so you should phone ur doc/midwife tomoz if the pain aint died down, if that is the case they wont need to induce you. unfortunately they wont induce you for feeling uncomfortable.
All the best.

Are you in labor?
If yes, then that's a good reason..
If not, then you have to wait..
