People it is not about talent anymore.
Watch the film. Not all the team Notre Dame is losing to has better talent than them.
What has Georgia Tech done since they beat Notre Dame?
NAVY
NAVY
NAVY
Not one player on the Navy team could start over any players on Notre Dame.
They beat UCLA because UCLA lost all their QBs and was down to their walk-on QB.
This Notre Dame team is so badly coached. They are losing because of coaching not talent.
In the Navy game toward the end of the 4th quarter Notre Dame is at 4th down in Navys 30. kick a field goal and they win. what did he do? he lost the game for his 5th year seniors.
Notre Dame deserves this.
I guess Ty was not that bad after all hahahaha

don't give me this rebuilding crap. Notre Dame's second string players are better than Navy's 1st string players.
A rebuilding team does not look this bad folks. He has 5, 4, and 3 star players to work with.
Notre Dame was not recuiting Ray Rice, Steve Slaton, Pat White.
They have 3 4 star RBs on their team. They started the season with 1 5 start QB and 2 4 Star QBs.
They have 5 and 4 star OL on their team.
Don't talk to me about talent.
NAVY!!!!!!

I think he should definelty go. I mean, someone else can hardly do any worse right? There's a difference between rebuilding and looking like a total joke. Florida is rebuilding this year, but they still have a winning record. Ohio State is supposed to be rebuilding and they're number one. Winning one game thus far is just awful. If I were a Notre Dame fan, I'd be outraged that he wasn't already fired.

A losing season isn't criteria for firing a relatively new guy, but when you're getting shutout at home several times, guys are leaving your team, and let major underdogs beat you, that should get you kicked if you don't turn it around FAST!
Here's the criteria I'd give:
This year - beat 2 of those last 3 weak teams or gone at the end of this season.
Next year - 8 wins and a bowl game, with at least one of the wins coming against Mich, USC, or BC to show you can win a big game.
Someone else would still pickup Weiss though, it's not like he'd be gone from coaching for good.
One thing he can do to help himself NOW is stop going for it on iffy 4th downs when your team hasn't had consistent offense all year.

Notre Dame can get some good recruits. Charlie Weis used Tyrone Willingham's recruits for developing into pro players. Charlie Weis got Jimmy Claussen that's it. If he goes out of his way to recruit good players, they will be a good team in 2 or 3 years. For Weis time is a factor. If this team does not win a bowl game by 2010 he is gone. I guarantee it from the bottom of my heart.

First of all, I want to make a correction t what someone had responded with "who says notre dame is getting good recruits, magazines. bla, bla, bla" actually these kids were rated the best way before they ever committed to ND. Secondly, Ty got fired not only because he couldn't coach, but because he couldn't recruit. the only reason why he won the games he won, was because Davies recruits were playing, well guess what, now Weiss is playing with jrs and srs that were among the worse recruits in those two years(referring to ty's recruits). I'm talking 2stars, and some(very few 3 stars) Weiss has got 2 5stars and a bunch of four stars. believe me, next year will be descent, not great, but descent. the following year will be great.

He should have been fired last year, but Notre Dame is stuck with him.
By the way, look at Ty Willingham, he has turned the Huskies around.

He's got like another nine years on his contract. You suggesting Notre Dame should just fire him and eat all that money? Because of one bad year?

I think Notre Dame should only fire Weis this year if he loses to Duke.

who says ND is getiing top recruits?, the magazines, right?, well they know that ND has more fans than any other team through out the whole country, so they hype up ND for sales, ND has alot of people that couldnt start for alot of lower teir teams, but yeah Weiss has to go

I'm beginning to wonder myself as an ND fan...We'll see if they can beat Air Force, Duke, and Stanford...but I don't think they will get rid of him yet, because of his huge contract...If he doesn't get to a bowl and win it next year, he's gone...
