Probably to make sure they get it right, every time. Otherwise the crook gets off because you worded it wrong, or forgot part of it.

I watch a lot of cop and criminal shows and have seen Miranda so butchered, I was surprised it was legal. I think that if it is issued, it should be read from a printed card so it is done properly and nothing is added or deleted.

The "miranda" statement is no longer necessary; however, when it did exist it was required to be read verbatim.

they probly do---but they have to read it to make sure they get it all right. and dont leave out anything.
