Friction is always a product of the coefficient of friction u and normal to the surface force N. If the surface is horizontal then weight W is the normal force N.
f=uN=uW
If the surface makes an angle A with the horizontal then
f= u W cos(A)
Please note that coefficient of friction u is unique to specific surfaces in contact.
