Considering that the World Series is to determine the best team in the MLB, and considering that the Red Sox just won the World Series...I think you have your answer.

The Boston Red Sox are the current World Champions, but as history have shown us, that next year it will be a different team that will win the World Series. And because of teams that have won it this decade some how or another, can't defend it the follwoing year, by winning 2 years in a row. Intresting enough, the last team that actually one more then a year in a row, actually won it 3 years in a row, and that was the New York Yankees that won it in 1998, 1999, 2000. And so far haven't won it since. But if you just look at Wikipedia, you will see that there hasn't been a baseball team in Major League Baseball that have won it 2 years in a row this decade.

Uh, we just had the World Series to determine that it is the Red Sox of Boston. That's what the World Series is for. This year, no matter how good a team looks on paper, the Red Sox are the best team.

Let's see... The Red Sox had the best regular season record (tied with the Cleveland Indians) and won the World Series. If this question is for 2007, Nuf 'Ced. If this is for 2008, I'd have to see who ends up where from the free agency market first, but with the young guns the Red Sox have coming in (and they need to re-sign Mike Lowell), I'd say the Red Sox will win in '08 (Manny promised us this at the parade).

The Red Sox are the champs but the Rockies were a better team at the end of the season, just look at their last 20 some games.

boston red sox....yankees think they got it all, but seriously when was the last time they even got to the world series? Boston does good every year, but some years different teams beat them in the playoffs.
