I've extended this question to allow others a chance to respond. Then, while I don't like doing this, I'm gonna allow it to go into voting. I am familiar with several of the situations contained in the answers and for me to select a best answer would be to make less of one situation or another and I won't do that. Thank you to everyone. God bless you.

I responded in deep regret & sorrow & I cryed. My life was greatly effected. I did nothing, my hands where tied~~~~~~

It was april fools day so go figure that i was fixing to play thay same prank call. I dropped the phone once i realized it wasn't fake. I rushed over doing 80 mph. in the green machine. LOL! If you receive another call like this, ask him for his name, his employee ID and the postcode of the regional department he is calling from. Then tell him that he can call back once you have checked his details with Microsoft. Being a scam, he will of course either give you false info, or simply hang up again, but he won't call again. Oh, you could also contact Microsoft and ask them if they're aware of this scam.

c. Frightening. I received a call at 1:30 am. I was half asleep. The caller asked if this was (said my phone number).
I thought it was some kind of prank call, so I asked if she didn't have anything better to do than to wake people up, and started to hang up. The lady asked if I knew (said my Dad's name) I noticed he wasn't in his bed, but thought he had gone to the bathroom. She had my attention!! I told her yes, that he was my Dad. She told me that her husband found him out walking, and had talked him into going inside their house.
She said to wait right here, that her husband was bringing him home. Dad got here within a couple of minutes. It was Winter. He had on a T shirt, pajama bottoms and no shoes.
I believe that he was Dad's guardian angel.

Sarge, you know I get a phone call, like that, all the time. And it always surprises me to hear that voice on the other end. At first, I was very nervous. Now? I'm deeply moved, excited beyond words. And proud to have friends, to talk to. Thanks for being there for us all!!

My friend and I did a prank call but our victim had caller id so he called us back...it was at a time when caller id was unusual.

Bad and frightening...
I pity young kids nowadays who cannot spend their time prank calling anymore because of everybody having caller id.
