During the drive do not feed him, give him water and walk him when you stop which you should be doing every 2-3 hours. Give him a toy and a bone to chew on during the trip. As for the "nipping", it is your fault not the dogs. Dogs live in the now and what happened in the first 9 weeks is ancient history. YOU need to discipline the dog when he nips/bites anyone. Someday he'll bite the wrong person and will be reported as a vicious dog and then he will be taken away. Do not treat the dog like a child, he's a DOG not a person. If he sees you as the pack leader he will respect you and will behave how you want him too.

I've done it twice. The first time was a bad case of cabin fever. Stuck inside during a Midwest winter. We got in the car and turned south. We wound up in Memphis, Tennessee (12 hours away from home).
The second time was on a vacation. The first half of it was planned out, ending up in Orlando. After that we drove from Orlando to Cincinnati, Ohio. That was unplanned, we just headed north to see what there was to see.
It would have been better if we were in an RV, but it was still one of the best times we've ever had.

Yep!!! When things get too hectic in the office or with our business we pack our bags, load up the car and take off. We like to travel and are good car partners and end up having more fun than a lot of preplanned and mapped out trips.
Some of the things you see and do are nothing you would ever plan. But they leave the best memories and times in your heart.
I love a good road trip!!!

My husband & I did a month one time. We drove 5,000 miles, only 60 of which were freeway. We did the Four Corners and Nev. and Ca. We forgot a bag of 'dinner' clothes at home so did the whole trip in jeans. Hit every road less traveled in 6 states, had to draw our own map.
Stopped in Taos for lunch and stayed six days.
Oh my do I have stories.
It was the best time of my entire life.
Thank You Ginny, for letting me talk about it!
Just do it, GF, while you can. Don't plan ANYTHING.

Yes, but only for the day...I usually end up in Malibu...I am kind of a chicken when it comes to traveling...I think that you should do your road trip if it doesn't bother you to be alone on the road....I wish I had the courage to do so.
-Hey Ginny...please add me to your contacts, this is a new acct...I couldn't find you!

It’s great.
Once, I decided to stop driving when I hit the ocean and ended up in a vacation beach town, out of season and I had the whole beach to myself! I sunbathed naked for a whole week, with not a soul in sight.
