Nobody should celebrate a terrorist whether centuries ago or now. I am in Scotland and Bon Fire Night as my English friends call it isn't the same here. However, we do have firework starting from end Sept until about a week after 5 Nov. and often bonfires on the 5 Nov. It is just an excuse to celebrate 'something' (don' think anyone really knows what) that can brighten up a dull day. Sorry, but here that is really the reality of the date.

What we celebrate is not the act itself, but the fact that we beat Guy Fawkes. It is to celebrate the winning of good and the fact evil could not prevail. I don't think people (even catholics) see Guy Fawkes as anything other than a terrorist.

November the Fifth is not about glorifying terrorism. Quite the opposite in fact. It is about celebrating the Protestant ascendancy and the failure of a Catholic terrorist plot against the State.

I am as much against Muslim terrorist as you, but please do not resort to lies. You know very well that people are not being killed in thousands by them. It is we who kill in thousands with our aeroplanes. You have a confused mind as well.
As for celebrating the attempted bombing of parliament, we do not. We commemorate its failure and take the opportunity to have some fun with fire works. In Christian Orthodox countries the have fireworks at Easter.

simply by fact the terrorists understand that democrats have not got the coronary heart to stand as much as them. that's a factor of the terrorists plans. They understand that in the event that they carry in there long sufficient and sufficient all human beings is killed. the final public of individuals won't have the potential to handle it and could prefer to retreat.

Uh.......................we are celebrating on November 5th? That's news to me. What is the day called because the next day is the 6th which is elections. Do you live in the USA? There's nothing on my calendar that says we are celebrating anything . Who is celebrating an attempted bombing? I haven't heard,so please tell me. I want to be informed. If you listen to all the media hype, that would be foolish ,as they just want the publicity and are a big part of the reason why everyone knows in the world what America is doing next. (especially the bad guys) I choose to celebrate life not death , but I do grieve for our service peoples" lives.

we don't glorify terrorism we remember that the Gunpowder Plot was foiled.
It's become tradition and we should be glad to have fun in this world full of stress.
