Are they safe? It seems like a bad idea to pour fluid down your ear canal. Should one see a doctor for this?

Both of my kids suffered with build0-up of earwax. My daughter to the point that she couldn't hear anything out of her right ear. Her pedriatician said that the kits were a waste of money, instead use hydrogen peroxide after a shower...a few drops in each ear until the "snap, crackle and pop" goes away. This should soften the wax allowing it to go away naturally, if that doesn't work see you Doctor and they will be able to clean it out using a water pick!

Get DeBrox. One drop in each ear in the morning and the same for the evening. Do that for two days. Then on the third day after a shower use q-tips. Works like a charm. Should get all the wax out. Getting it done by a Dr. is always better but expensive.

I've used them, they work OK but nothing great. The little blue bulb they give you to flush with is the only really useful part of those kits, although I'll admit I haven't tried all brands.

Doctors really don't do much different, they'll still flush your ears with warm water.

Someone once told me to pour hydrogen peroxide in there , right from the bottle. Fill up the little cap and pour it in your ear. Lay on the side of the bed, let it bubble for a sec. Then flip over and lay your ear on a washcloth. It cleans out all the gunk.

My doctor commended me to pour 1/2 Peroxide 1/2 water in a small container and then add few drops to my ears. It is safe, just think about it, water goes in your ears when you take a shower and when you swim.

yes they are safe, why do you think so many people have used them and are fine, and of course they work , for ear wax they get rid of it, if its really bad then even before you see your gp you will need to use them and then see your gp or nurse who will syringe your ears the wax out the only problem is if you have peanut allergy some one of them contain peanut oil so you may have reaction, thats the only prob

They actually work pretty well. You may want to use only the little baster thingy and warm water .. that works fine. (Don't let the water get too hot!)
