Truly I don't think there is an age set in stone when a person becomes old. When I was 20 I thought 40 was old. I'm 47 now and feel and look better than I ever have in my life. I don't think age is a number, age is the way you carry yourself and the life you live. If you choose to be young forever you can. I know a 92 year old man who still plays the field, owns an upscale furniture store and acts like he is 60.
Age isn't a number, age is how you act.

Hi there,
60 is now considered middle age because people are beginning to live past 100 years of age.
My husband is 81 and I am 70. Inside our bodies we still feel young. It's just the outside that looks old. We drive, we shop, we walk, we garden, we are on two computers most all day long with good minds that still work.
We have a cyber friend in California that is on her way to being 90 years old and she still does her own gardening and mowing of lawn. She too is constantly on the computer with a quick mind and good sense of humor.
Did you know there are now 117 million or more seniors here in the USA? And it is the same in all countries. We are going to see a lot of changes in the next ten years.

It is really interesting to read these answers. I was working with grade schoolers when I was barely 40 and asked them how old they thought I was and they resoundingly thought I was 100. I see that happening here. It is really hard to tell when one is young, just how old the older people are. I am 70 and figure I have about 20 more years to live so I don't consider myself old but these young people believe I have 1 1/2 feet in the grave. Oh well!

Old age is in the mind; my gran worked until she was 75, then she joined a travel club and found she had got the travel bug. for the next 20 years, until a few months before she died, she saw the world. She met a new man at the age of 78; she was interested in everything and everyone; she was fun and interesting. Yet I know people in their 20s who are old and boring.
It's got nothing to do with the number of years you have lived; age is a state of mind!

No age. Only when he feels old and considers himself as old. A person is only what he wants or considers himself to be.

Easy, your only as old as you feel. Society says one thing, your birth certificate says another, but how do you feel? Are you going to let society or a document govern how you feel, and limit what you can do. Remeber your here on earth one time make the best of it as long as you can. have fun and dont lket anyone tell you your too old. Think about how many time you were told your were too little or young and excluded from things, now it the opposite. Why cut yourself short on doing what you believe you can because someone who can't doesn't want you who can to show them up. Please....live your life, and dont let the document tell you what to do. Good luck Jim

When I was a kid, I think "old" used to mean "older than my parents". Now, I'm 30, my parents are 64, and my idea of "old" has changed....I would probably say around 80 is getting old. But I think I know quite a few young 80-year-olds....I can certainly think of one person I know who is in his late 70s and doesn't seem old at all.
