Well, I think that if you screw up in your freshmen year, get lazy, that sort of thing, it will become a trend and you will stay that way. Start off with a good freshmen year, and the good habits will continue to follow for the remaining years. All years are important. Just make the right choices, that is all it comes down to.

All years of high school are extremely important.

For the purposes of your question, I would say that sophomore year is more important.

Don't take that to mean that you can slack off in 9th grade. Colleges will look at all years. Junior year is the most important, where students should take many rigorous courses, but sophomores should take some Honors/AP classes as well.

They are both equally important with perhaps the Freshman year having a slight edge because it sets the pattern for the other high school years.

Freshmen, because that will lead you towards taking good classes or just flunking it all out. Just do a good job, and youll be fine. Your junior year is the most important though=]

I want to say junior year, but since its only freshman or sophomore, I'm gonna say freshman. If you basically fail all your classes freshman year, then for sophomore year, you're just gonna be working to get the credits that you didn't get freshman year.
