Ever? That's hard to say. Let's see.....Peter Paul & Mary created a stink with Puff the Magic Dragon, then there was Elton John with Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds; both artists were accused of lyrics that were misleading. But in my opinion, I would have to stick with the Rolling Stones...for not only their longevity, but getting arrested on stage, they created constant controversy AND despite the drug and alcohol abuse, not to mention the number of sexual partners they must have gone through....are still alive and performing!! Not only controversial, but a small miracle if you ask me.
