I was wondering if on this answer board do you take every question being asked and every answer being answered seriously or with a grain of salt? My take on this is lighten up it is a game, world peace is not at stake here. Like that will ever happen anyway!

Exactly. You have hit it on the head my dear. This forum or should I say forums allow people to voice their opinions. i have always been told that opinions are like Bum holes everyone has one and they all stink anyway so why get so nasty and belligerent about it. Consciously hurting peoples feelings is just bad.

I don't read every question, I don't even read most of them.....I only read the ones from my network people for the most part.........There are some that do need to be answered seriously and those are the ones I'm serious about when I answer..........Some questions are to be taken with a grain of salt and IF I answer those I answer them with a grain of salt.......Then there are others that don't rate answers and I don't even understand why people write nonsense.......And I sure agree with you about world peace!!!!.........CAT

I agree with you.

When the world series was still going on, someone asked the question "What's the score of the world series?" I answered with the score, and within 10 minutes I had 5 thumbs down--for stating a fact...no opinions...a FACT. People in this section of Y!A get so wrapped up in their team winning, they insult others, report others and more! Just because they don't agree with another person.

I'm a Red Sox fan, and I wasn't too pleased when they lost a game this season, but I didn't go around taking my anger out on innocent (other team name) fans! This year, of course I was esctatic when the Red Sox won the world series! Of course Rockies' fans were upset, but it happens! Its a fact of life--your team is GOING to lose games! People are GOING to have opinions different than yours. I wish everyone could just accept this instead of thinking that by insulting you, everything will be better. When they do that, it just adds insult to injury!

I'm in here to have some fun with baseball and other sports. Unfortunately there are some people who visit this venue who thinks it's life and death.

There is a mentality attached to some that resemble that of frozen extra terrestrial pond scum. And when they try a convey their sentiments that's about what it sounds like.

There are a couple of rules I like to follow in evaluating the people I associate with. One: If they find it necessary to attack me personally just because they disagree with me on a particular topic, I block them until I feel they've learned a lesson. Two: If the word "suck" enters the conversation in order to describe anything about the topic including someones favorite team, I usually will have nothing to do with them again. It's a matter of intellectual compatibility.

I do quite get you. I agree. There should be more humor by far. Baseball is a bottomless pit of humor. And there ought to be a lot more sportsmanship. And more of an effort to be less negative. There is a WAR going on. THAT'S serious. And, yes, it's good to take your passions, like baseball, seriously but only if you can stop and crack up smiling once in a while. As the old perfessor used to say: You could look it up!

I blame the Red Sox for the abundance of anger and hatred around here...if only a compassionate man like Terry Francona had known that so many people would have been just that much more free of bitterness, maybe he could've seen to it that his team would simply have tanked just for the sake of peace and serenity.

At least those '1918' chants would have more relevance today.

Amen to that. I don't mind little jabs here and there, but name calling, threats, and other childish behavior needs to go.
Although, I did see an answer recently about Tom Brady which was very witty. The answer was "Tom Brady sucks and he is ugly. " Classic!

Depends on the question...If its info someone needs, I'm serious with an answer...but I am usually in Sports, so some of the questions are just ribbing between fans...

For me, I try to answer with some humor. Answers is not a "life or death" situation. Some questions, though; I do take seriously - at least when it's warranted.
